Fernando Alonso's reaction over the radio made the headlines after the Singapore Grand Prix, but it’s far from the first time that’s happened. Alonso was vocal over the radio after he just missed out on overtaking Lewis Hamilton on track, who had damaged brakes.
The Spaniard said,
"Oh, f****** hell, man. I cannot believe it. Is it safe to drive with no brakes? "Yeah, but this should be f****** P7. I mean, you cannot drive. Yeah, it may well be. Like if you are alone on track. Yeah, I mean, no respect — the red flag yesterday, today, free track for them. I mean, maybe too much."
Hamilton himself also reacted to his words on social media with clip from
'One Foot in the Grave,' in which the main character repeatedly exclaims,
“I don’t believe it!” The Spaniard has had many memorable moments over the years on the radio.

The Honda engine
"GP2 engine, GP2 engine!"
Alonso joined McLaren for the 2015 season, when Honda returned to
Formula 1 as a power unit manufacturer.
At the Japanese Grand Prix, when being passed on the main straight by Marcus Ericsson, he said: "They pass me on the straight like a GP2. This is embarrassing, very embarrassing."
After being overtaken by Max Verstappen, who was competing in his rookie year for Toro Rosso, Alonso said the famous words "GP2 engine! GP2 engine!"

Before winning title with Red Bull, Honda’s problems stretched across multiple seasons and were often discussed over the radio. "The engine feels good, much slower than before," Alonso said driving a papaya-colored car by then.
In Montreal, when handed the task to save fuel, the two-time world champion also had a clear response. "I don't want [to]. Already I have big problems now, driving with these, looking like amateurs."
Next year, Alonso will once again drive a Honda-powered car at Aston Martin.
Palmer's penalty at Monza
At the 2016 Italian Grand Prix, Alonso battled with Jolyon Palmer heading into the Roggia chicane, where the Brit cut the corner.
"What Palmer is doing? He needs to give me back the position. He cut the chicane."
Once informed that the current
F1 TV analyst received a five-second penalty, the Spaniard reacted:
"Five seconds is a joke! A joke! What a joke!"When Alonso was then told Palmer had to retire from the race, he had the perfect response. "Karma!"

The need for space
"All the time you have to leave a space!"
At the 2012 Bahrain Grand Prix, current McLaren team principal Andrea Stella was Alonso's race engineer when the Spaniard battled Nico Rosberg.
The Spaniard famously commented: "He pushed me off the track. I think you have to leave a space. All the time you have to leave a space."
Hamilton not only provoked a fiery team radio message from Alonso last weekend, but also at the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix. Racing down the Kemmel Straight, into Les Combes.
Alonso said: "What an idiot! Closing the door from the outside. I mean we had a mega start, but this guy only knows how to drive starting first."
