Former Haas team boss Guenther Steiner believes Christian Horner would be suitable for a different role in Formula 1. "Christian could easily go on TV, on Sky."
- Guenther SteinerHorner was dismissed by
Red Bull Racing ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix,
and was replaced by Laurent Mekies.According to Steiner, Horner would be well-suited for a role outside of team boss.
"I think he gets busy pretty quick as well. I haven't spoken to him since he left Red Bull. I don't know what's on his mind. Maybe he just wants to go back in.
"But maybe he's happy to do something else. Christian could easily go on TV, on Sky," he said on The Red Flags Podcast.
He added: "He’s perfect, he's British, he knows the sport very well.
"But I think Christian is trying to get somewhere in the team again. He's lived it for so long, that's his passion.
"I think he needs to give himself a little bit of time to calm down, not to take the first opportunity, but to see what else is around," Steiner explained.

Horner to Haas rumours: The state of play
Steiner also reacted to Ayao Komatsu's words about Horner approaching
Haas F1.
The Japanese team boss commented in Singapore: “Yes it’s true that he approached us. And then one of our guys had an exploratory, let’s say, a talk. Then that’s it. Then nothing’s gone any further."
GPblog understands
it was not Horner who initially approached the team. There was no direct contact from the former Red Bull team boss.
Instead, an intermediary reached out to both Horner and a representative of team owner Gene Haas.
About Horner being linked to his former team, Steiner said: "I mean, we all know now from the reporting how much money Christian made. I do not think that Haas will pay him that amount of money, that’s the first thing.
"So, that’s my take on it. I wish I were paid the amount Christian was paid, but I wasn’t."
He also highlighted the difference between Red Bull’s resources and Haas’ position in the pecking order.
"But also, where Christian is coming from, Red Bull is the team with the biggest infrastructure, I would say, in Formula 1
“They make their own engines. You could say Audi is the same, but Audi is still young compared with Red Bull, so it’s a completely different thing."
