Fernando Alonso has voiced complaints about the calendar and the very intense schedule that drivers and teams are subjected to. “I don’t think any other sport in the world would accept that”
- Fernando AlonsoSpeaking to AS after the race, the Spaniard said: “The position on the calendar, if I’m honest, is difficult for us. It’s tough coming here with the time difference and how far it is from Europe.
“We did Brazil two weeks ago and now we’re going straight to Qatar with a 17-hour flight and a 13-hour time difference. I don’t think any other sport in the world would accept that.”
According to the two-time world champion, scheduling Las Vegas at the end of November for logistical reasons doesn’t justify such exhausting travel demands, citing the Monaco GP as an example to support his point.
“My understanding is that we’re doing it now because it’s the quietest weekend in Las Vegas, but if we go by that logic, we should do Monaco in February because everything is quieter then. There are things we need to think about.”

Alonso looking forward to part ways with AMR25 amid
The Spaniard is eagerly anticipating the end of the season, ready to bid farewell to the AMR25 and focus on 2026. The two-time world champion crossed the line 13th at the Las Vegas GP, later promoted to 11th after the disqualification of both McLaren drivers.
Despite the slight upgrade, it remained a disappointing outing for Alonso, who is now looking ahead to the season’s final two races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile, Aston Martin has found itself at the centre of a media storm, following speculation that Andy Cowell, who has been team principal for less than a year, might step down — with
Christian Horner reportedly among the potential candidates to take over.
