Abiteboul and Ricciardo are gonna make a bet: ''Then he gets a tattoo''

Daniel Ricciardo has made a remarkable bet with his current team boss. Should Ricciardo finish on the podium for Renault this year, Cyril Abiteboul will have to get a tattoo.

''That's indeed the bet," Ricciardo confirms at the press conference according to Motorsport.com. ''He may decide the place and the size, but I choose the design. We'll determine that by then. In any case it is a tattoo and Cyril doesn't have it yet'," jokes Ricciardo.

Ricciardo will leave Renault at the end of 2020 but hopes to forever stay with Renault in this unique way. ''It has to be something spontaneous, with Cyril thinking, every time he looks at it, 'oh remember that time'. Where he's shaking his head," said Ricciardo, who already has a good connection with his future teammate Lando Norris.

''We'll see each other in the paddock and then we'll make some jokes of course. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be competitive, but also very fun. From the outside, he seems to have really taken a step this year compared to last year, so that's cool to see. I really expect a nice atmosphere within the team," the McLaren rider concludes for 2021.
