Sergio Perez is having a bad Saturday. The Mexican crashed out in Q2 of qualifying and will start tomorrow's race from eleventh place. He explains where it went wrong in qualifying.

"Very disappointed today, because we have been there all weekend, in FP3 we were there. We just couldn’t make it work in qualifying. We changed our approach going into the night with the tyres, and I think we just didn’t get on top of the tyres," Perez told the Ziggo Sport camera.

The Mexican suffered from a lot of traffic, which prevented him from setting a good fast lap.

"There was a lot of traffic at that point. I think it’s something we have to review, it’s too little to comment on that. I had a lot of traffic, so we couldn’t get our clean out lap."

Perez hopes for quick catch-up race

Perez hopes he can get through the field quickly tomorrow to help Max Verstappen in the battle against Mercedes. "Hopefully I’m able to recover quickly enough and get in the mix from early on. It’s going to be difficult to make the progress tomorrow, but we will try our best."
