Nikita Mazepin's excessive actions could cause serious accidents in the future, argues Timo Glock in an interview with Speedweek.com. The former Formula 1 driver fears that action will only be taken too late.

Actions by Mazepin

Mazepin has made few friends in Formula 1 in his first season in the sport. The Russian often gets in the way of people and drivers who have to duel with him for a place also have to watch out. The Haas driver can send you into the wall, whether you are his teammate or not.

''The problem is: you only take action when it's too late. That only happens when someone drives on the back and then takes off. If that happens at the wrong moment in Zandvoort, Mick flies into the pit lane - ascending'', Glock cited the incident between the two teammates during the Dutch Grand Prix.

Calm at Schumacher

''I would take action. You can punish him first and if he doesn't understand that you can also give him a race suspension. A lot of things come together with him, it seems as if he is overwhelmed. Blue flags, reading situations - many things that he misjudges. The error rate speaks for itself.''

Glock understands the frustration there is with Schumacher, but advises him to stay calm above all else. ''He's always been very relaxed about it and I hope he makes his position clear within the team. A revenge attack would only harm himself. The chance of it going wrong is greater than the chance of it yielding something'', concludes Glock.
