Grosjean and Magnussen reflect on "heart breaking" race after double retirement

Haas threw away a potential best ever points tally in Formula One as both drivers retired with loose wheels soon after making their first pit stop.
Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean sat in fourth and fifth before the pit stop window after Max Verstappen’s spin.
Magnussen overtook the Red Bull driver into the first corner to take fourth and frustrated Verstappen for the early laps, forcing him into the mistake.
Grosjean overtook Verstappen as the Dutchman recovered, but their efforts were in vain as two separate pit stop errors left both drivers with loose wheels, forcing them both out of the race.
Magnussen: “It’s a very tough one to swallow for the whole team.

“To have both cars not finishing – having been in such good positions and with so much anticipation -it’s just heart breaking to finish like that.”
Grosjean added: “We had a good car all weekend. I had great pace today.
“We’ll now analyse everything and work out what happened exactly.
“We’ll come back stronger as we always do. It’s a lot of points lost today, but if we can repeat that performance over and over, we’re going to forget this very quickly.”
