Charles Leclerc still cannot understand how Lance Stroll tried to close the gap at the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The overtaking manoeuvre Stroll tried to make was 'fairly unrealistic' according to Leclerc.

Five drivers eliminated at the start

At the chaotic start of last Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix, five drivers retired in two separate incidents. The first was Valtteri Bottas taking out himself, Lando Norris, Sergio Perez and to some extent Max Verstappen, while Stroll drove himself and Leclerc out of the race. Leclerc is far from happy with the Aston Martin driver's action.

"I know that sometimes small mistakes can have big consequences," Leclerc is quoted as saying by Motorsport.com. "I think though this time, it's not really a small mistake. I couldn't see Lance in my mirrors and he was five or six positions back so it was quite unrealistic for him to try anything there."

Leclerc unlucky of the season so far

Leclerc was hit in the side of his Ferrari and in a sort of domino effect also took Daniel Ricciardo with him, although the Australian was able to continue his way. "But that's life. It's very frustrating," said Leclerc. The Monegasque considers himself one of the drivers with the worst luck during the first half of the season.
