Teams and drivers react to cancelled Grand Prix: 'Very disappointing'
It was in the air all along, but the Australian Grand Prix has now officially been cancelled. The news was announced by the organisation on Tuesday morning and it caused a lot of reactions.
GP in Australia will not take place
Formula 1 wanted to organise a normal season again in 2021, but that hasn't quite worked out yet. It already started with the winter test in Bahrain and the start of the season in the same country, because the Australian Grand Prix was postponed. Since then a lot has changed in the F1 calendar as Singapore and Canada also disappeared from the calendar.
So there have been quite a few changes already, and since Tuesday another one can be added. To the disappointment of many, the Australian GP has now been cancelled and F1 has to find a replacement. It is the second year in a row that this GP will not take place, and that stings, especially with Daniel Ricciardo.

Looking forward to seeing you next year. https://t.co/jaLMvIeONm
No Melbourne again this year. A call needed making early to allow the track at Albert Park to be built (or not in this case). Focus now is on 2022.

F1 has options to fill the gap in this year’s calendar - the Bahrain outer circuit has been mentioned a few times… #F1 https://t.co/bMTxHNORsf
