Norris completely put Ricciardo in the shade

Lando Norris caused a stir at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix after his good performance in Bahrain by driving his McLaren to the podium. On Saturday, the young Englishman was also not far away from pole position. So we can speak of a very strong start of the season for Norris.

Norris suddenly flew to P1 on the timesheet on Saturday, something that many people hadn't seen coming. By violating track limits his time was deleted. Something that caused disappointment for the Brit, who received support on Instagram from fellow countryman Lewis Hamilton.

Where Norris kept the headlines busy, became Driver of the Day and was celebrating on the podium, Daniel Ricciardo stayed behind. He still hasn't found his place at McLaren. Liberty Media Journalist Will Buxton says on his Youtube channel: "Lando was brilliant by finishing third with that car. He completely put Ricciardo, who came in sixth, in the shade."

Strong weekends in Bahrain and Italy have done both Norris and McLaren a great service to themselves, ranking third in both the constructors' and drivers' championships.
