Red Bull Racing have to look for a new engine for 2022, but is not giving up hope of winning races with Honda in 2020 and 2021, Helmut Marko said after the announcement of the news.

Honda will pull the plug from the Formula 1 project at the end of 2021, leaving a gap for Red Bull. If the new regulations come into effect for aerodynamics, Red Bull must now also focus on a new partner for the engine. It is still unclear who that should be, but Marko remains confident in his team.

Red Bull will stay in Formula 1

"Our immediate ambition for the remainder of the 2020 and 2021 seasons is to work with Honda to chase race wins and be strong championship contenders," Marko said, according to Motorsport.com. The Austrian is therefore not worried about the future of Red Bull.

"Beyond that we will work with our teams to evaluate the most competitive power unit solutions for 2022 and beyond. We remain committed to the sport, with both teams are signatories to F1's latest Concorde Agreement," the Red Bull CEO concludes.
