Albon: "There's a smile under the mask"

Alexander Albon can finally laugh again after taking his first podium in Formula 1. After a good race the Thai managed to take his Red Bull Racing RB16 to third place at Mugello.

"Yes, there's a smile under the mask," Albon says. "It was a good race. I am very happy to be on the podium. It wasn't easy today either. I didn't get away well at the start and we lost some positions. says the Thai to Ziggo Sport.

"It wasn't so much fun for me," Albon says about the multiple restarts. "Yes, it was good, when the podium came into sight I thought to myself: I'm going to take this podium at all costs. We had the speed and a good car." Albon had been under pressure for some time because of disappointing performances, but he will hope to relax a bit more now. He is happy that the team continues to believe in him and that he now has his first podium.
