Last week, just before the Austrian Grand Prix, the big news was that Lewis Hamilton was still three places back on the starting line-up. Also for the GP of Steiermark adjustments were made on Sunday morning.

This time, however, it was also known early in the weekend that a number of drivers were put back a few places before the race. Lando Norris received three places penalty for ignoring yellow flags during free practice on Friday and will therefore start the race from ninth place.

Drama day for Leclerc

Charles Leclerc got bad news on Saturday night, when his already lousy qualification got even worse. He dropped from eleventh to fourteenth place because he had held up Daniil Kvyat's AlphaTauri during Q2.

Finally on Sunday morning there were penalties for Antonio Giovinazzi and Romain Grosjean. Giovinazzi got two places penalty for a gear change and start in the back and Grosjean starts from the pits because Haas worked on his car late Saturday night.
