Esteban Ocon would make his debut for Renault next season. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus, he will have to wait a while for his official debut. In the time available for Ocon he has been able to do several things. He himself indicates at La Gazzetta dello Sport that he has mainly focused on keeping his condition up to date.

"I have had a lot of preparation, because of course I didn't participate in F1 in 2019. At that time I was less concerned with my condition, so I started to focus more on that", Ocon says. For him, the break is even longer than for other drivers, because he has been waiting more than a year to race an F1 car again. "At least I have a contract, so I know I can drive. For now it is especially important that everyone is at home and everyone is healthy".

Back in Virtual Grand Prix?

Many current F1 drivers participate in the virtual Grands Prix, organized by F1. Ocon himself thinks there is a chance that he will join. "I've received all the parts to participate, so maybe you'll see me soon. For now, I have already held a number of virtual races on Gran Turismo against Carlos Sainz."

Ocon is looking forward to racing Daniel Ricciardo. "We have to do well for the team, especially now that there are fewer races, so scoring points is more important. The goal, of course, is to get a podium this year. Daniel wants that and so does the team". Ocon left Mercedes, and has also brought a number of things that are important to him. "I have learned a lot there. From Lewis Hamliton I learned that you shouldn't just look at the dates. You also have to race on feeling," concludes the Frenchman.
