Helmut Marko: "We are already at the level of Mercedes in terms of power"

Helmut Marko believes that the Honda engine is nearly equal to that of the Mercedes. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing are pleased with how their partnership with Honda has gone this season and will hope that things continue to improve.

"In the race, we are already at the level of Mercedes in terms of power," the Austrian smiles in conversation with Motorsport-Total.

However, Marko does see an area that his team and the Honda engine could improve.

"We are losing some of that in qualifying mode," Marko said.

Marko isn't the only one who thinks that Honda are improving. Toto Wolff has also noticed their gains and believes that they are currently performing better than this year's constructor's champions.

Red Bull will gain confidence from this season but will ultimately want more results next season so that they can keep hold of Max Verstappen and stop him looking at other teams.
