Alfa Romeo Racing driver Antonio Giovinazzi is looking to build on his great recent form as the Formula 1 circus travels to Russia this weekend, with the Italian scoring points in the last two races at Monza and in Singapore.

The second half of the season started poorly for Giovinazzi, who spun his C38 in the last lap of the Belgian Grand Prix from a point-scoring position.

A real blow for the 25-year-old. However, he turned things around at his and Alfa's home Grand Prix, finishing in a career-best ninth place. He followed that up by scoring another point on the streets of Singapore as he finished tenth, despite getting a ten-second penalty post-race.

His first time finishing in the points in back-to-back races, which is something that has done wonders for his morale.

“The last few races have given me a lot of confidence and I want to keep building on these results," Giovinazzi said looking ahead to his first Formula 1 race in Russia.

"I feel more at ease with the car and racing in the field and I think the points I have scored show I am on the rise.”

He continued: “I am confident we can have another good weekend in Sochi. It’s not a track I know really well – I have only done a session on Friday last year- but it was the same in Singapore and I adapted quickly there.”
