F1 Standings | Antonelli recovers but Russell and Red Bull score big at Azerbaijan GP

The Formula 1 championship standings have been updated following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, with George Russell taking victory around the Baku City Circuit in the nation's capital.

Championship leader Antonelli, F1’s youngest ever, has seen his points gap reduced following his P5 finish, but it was an impressive recovery drive from the 20-year-old to make sure the damage was not to extensive.

Lewis Hamilton, the highest-placed non-Mercedes driver in the championship battle this season, arrived to Baku 101 points down on Antonelli following a DNF in Madrid last time out. The seven-time world champion has seen that gap increased after a difficult race, finishing behind the Italian in P6.

As for the Constructors’ Standings, Mercedes maintain their comfortable lead in their title fight with Ferrari after securing 11 wins from the opening 15 rounds of F1 2026.

Reigning Constructors' champions McLaren suffered a big blow, with Lando Norris crashing out in an incident with the Alpine duo, while Oscar Piastri finished out of the points in P14 - the Aussie locked up after a second Safety Car restart and lost his P3 place.

It was a strong haul for Red Bull, who saw both Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar on the podium after an impressive outing in Baku, Russell just pipping the former to the line for a thrilling end to the Grand Prix.
