Red Bull Racing driver and Formula 1 rookie Alexander Albon has admitted the reality of the British-born Thai driver driving in F1 still hasn't really sinked in yet.
Albon is just over midway through his rookie season in the highest tier of motorsport, where he is already driving for his second team with Red Bull after being promoted from junior side Toro Rosso.
It was announced over the summer break that Albon and Pierre Gasly would be doing a swap, with the latter returning to Toro Rosso after failing to impress the Milton Keynes-based squad.
"Not really," Albon answered when asked if he had his feet under the table at Red Bull yet on Beyond the Grid. "I feel like this whole F1 thing is not really under the table. I’m getting used to it.
I’m being rather chucked in the deep end, it feels like, but enjoying it, it all feels like a blur – nothing is feeling real. The beginning of the season felt like that and then you kind of get to grips with Formula 1 and feel quite normal about it. You join the circus, but from Thursday to Sunday (at Spa) it did feel very blurry."

It will be decided after the race in the United States whether Albon has done enough to impress the very difficult Helmut Marko, and if he hasn't, rest assured he'll be receiving the prominent Red Bull axe.
