Perez believes a wet qualifying session would "open up more opportunities"

Sergio Perez believes a wet qualifying session will give SportPesa Racing Point more opportunities for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Mexican crashed out of last weekend's wet German race, but teammate Lance Stroll finished in 4th.

SportPesa Racing Point will once again be armed with upgrades. But in both sessions, the pink panthers failed to finish higher than P15 in the timesheets.

"We did limited running today due to the wet weather. It's hard to learn a huge amount, but we did what we could. The difficulty is predicting where the track will be tomorrow, but I think we can be competitive whether it's wet or dry," Perez said.

"I think if it's wet again it will open up more opportunities for us. There's definitely a lot of work to do tonight to go through the data and pick out the best bits."

Luckily for Perez, it looks like rain will fall.
