Antonio Giovinazzi has admitted the Monaco Grand Prix was "not a very entertaining" race for Alfa Romeo Racing, with the Italian driver finishing in last-place on the grid.

Giovinazzi spun the Williams of Robert Kubica mid-race, and was penalised with a 10-second penalty, which saw him fall to the back of the grid, and ultimately stay there for the rest of the race.

Alfa Romeo struggled for pace all weekend, with Giovinazzi qualifying in P15, a position behind his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. However, a three-place grid penalty for impeding Nico Hulkenberg in qualifying dropped the Italian to 18th.

"It was not a very entertaining race for us," Giovinazzi said. "I lost a position to a Williams in the first corner and, even though my pace was faster, I couldn't find a way through."

Giovinazzi went to pass Kubica at the Rascasse hairpin, but instead tapped the Polish driver into a half-spin; which temporarily blocked the narrow street circuit.

"I tried a move at Rascasse, but there was not enough space for two cars, we touched and I got stuck," the Italian said. "It was really frustrating to stay behind slower cars, it ended up to be a fairly boring race for me."
