Max Verstappen has revealed that Mercedes' W10 is unmatchable in any corner. The Red Bull driver believes that the Silver Arrows have a car that his team cannot match despite Red Bull being renowned for its aerodynamic performance.

After yet another one-two finish for Mercedes at the Spanish Grand Prix, Verstappen was resigned to the fact the W10 was superior compared to the Red Bull, highlighting the performance in the corners as the main area in which the reigning champions are unbeatable.

“We’re not really better in any corner than Mercedes,” he told Motorsport.com.

“It’s good, it’s not that it’s a bad car! But at the moment the Mercedes is just quicker than us everywhere.

“Medium-speed, high-speed is pretty similar but that depends a lot on the downforce levels you’re running every single weekend so it’s a bit difficult to say.

“On this track, they were very strong in the low-speed corners. And that is normally pretty good for Monaco [the next race] as well.”

Although he wasn't involved in the fight for the race victory, Verstappen put his Red Bull in the podium positions after yet again beating Ferrari in a head-to-head fight during the race.

“You’re never sure, but I knew that we could take the fight to Ferrari.

"Even in qualifying we were already very close, so I think my race was also a bit decided in Lap 1, to overtake Seb around the outside in Turn 3, so that’s good, and then from then on, I could just do my own pace.”

The result means Verstappen moves ahead of Sebastian Vettel and into third place in the driver's standings.
