Mick Schumacher has confirmed it was "very easy" to balance Formula 1 and Formula 2 duties in Bahrain, as the youngster had his first taste in a Ferrari.

Schumacher made his F2 debut at the end of March in Bahrain, a few days before his first F1 test experience, where he drove for both Ferrari and Alfa Romeo at the Bahrain International Circuit.

The 20-year-old said prior to the race weekend that he'd not become distracted by the F1 tests, but the son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, said that it was perhaps easier than he initially thought.

"(It was) not hard at all," Schumacher said to Crash.net. "For me, it was very easy to separate that. For me, it was F2 from the beginning, F2-focused, and after F2 was done, that's the time I was kind of able to think about F1.

"I managed it really well. I was quite happy with how it went, so I think it was a very positive weekend and a very positive week."

Schumacher followed in his father's prestigious footsteps by signing for Ferrari - albeit to the Academy - just before Christmas, as his dream of one day driving an F1 car permanently gets closer to reality.
