Marko: Ferrari quicker than Red Bull, McLaren to battle with Williams

Red Bull boss Dr Helmut Marko believes his team is slower than Ferrari, and has also claimed McLaren will be right at the bottom in 2019.

Following the conclusion of the pre-season testing in Barcelona that finished last week - Ferrari were the pace-setters and Williams were unsurprisingly at the foot of the grid once again.

McLaren and Toro Rosso finished above Red Bull in testing - but Marko doesn't think you can take too much reliable information from the pre-season tests and believes the Woking-side will be right at the back in Melbourne.

"Ferrari is ahead, then we come in front of Mercedes," Marko said to Speed Week. "And then there is a big midfield, where it will be very tight. McLaren and Williams are at the back."

Marko seems very confident about Red Bull-Honda's package that he believes they will win "at least five victories" in 2019. The Red Bull advisor was then asked why he was feeling so confident, and replied: "The best test for us since the introduction of the hybrid formula.

"We did an incredible mileage despite Pierre Gasly's crashes, we had absolute reliability thanks to Honda."

Asked for his prediction of the 2019 world champion: "Max Verstappen."
