Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull Racing in 2025. The Austrian Formula One team has officially confirmed this. The top designer and chief technical officer is leaving Red Bull after almost two decades of loyal service.

Red Bull confirms Adrian Newey departure

In 2023, Newey signed a contract extension with Red Bull, but the situation within the team has since changed dramatically. The 65-year-old Briton is said to have disliked the power struggle going on between team boss Christian Horner and top advisor Helmut Marko.
It now appears that Newey has decided to leave Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez's team. Red Bull state that Newey will leave in 2025. Nothing has yet been announced about his future plans, but Newey is mostly associated with a move to Ferrari. Aston Martin is also said to be interested in the technical mastermind.
Newey will immediately stop designing the car but will continue to work for the team on the track at specific races until the end of 2024. Newey will remain part of the Red Bull Technology Group until the first quarter of 2025 and will focus on the hypercar during that period.
