Sargeant feels better after being sidelined by Williams

It must have been a difficult moment for Logan Sargeant. In Australia, his car was taken over by Alexander Albon, who could not use his own due to a crash. All the more striking is that the American says he has felt mentally stronger since then.

During the Australian Grand Prix - and even in the short term - Williams did not have a spare chassis available. That caused a major problem in Melbourne. Indeed, Alexander Albon crashed his car into the wall during free practice, and it could not be repaired. Team boss James Vowles then decided to give Albon Sargeant's car.

In Japan, the American looked back on the situation in Australia. "I think you always have to look at what's best for the team. Of course, as a driver, you want to drive. But at the same time, I know everyone's working as hard as they can. I don't blame anyone. I know everyone's trying their best. And I make mistakes. The team makes mistakes. But yeah, we move on," he concluded maturely.

The young American driver was no longer bothered by it. He felt crazily better because of what happened. "I think the funny part of that is that I probably, psychologically, feel better. After having a week away, you see things from a different perspective. Like I said, I've had a decent start to the year. It hasn't shown up in quality yet. I think it would have in Melbourne. So, I'm just continuing with that mindset that I'm close to where I need to be. It's going to start this weekend," Sargeant said with Japan in mind. Unfortunately for the Williams driver, he finished last.
