Haas decide not to appeal stewards decision about Force India

Haas decide not to appeal stewards decision about Force India

28-11-2018 08:07

Hass has decided not to appeal against the decision to dismiss the teams protest against Racing Point Force India. They suggested the 'new' team hadn't built their own car. But they've now accepted the stewards' decision after initially buying themselves extra time with a notice of intent to appeal.

The stewards confirmed the Force India entry was legitimate and fair when the new team first raced in Belgium. Haas brought themselves an extra 96 hours to decide if they would appeal the decision which they've now decided not to.

It's not the first time these two teams have thrown each other into a dispute over the course of the 2018 season. Early on, it was Force India who got the ball rolling by suggesting Haas's relationship with Ferrari and how they used non-listed parts from Scuderia.

Force India had a complete points wipe after the summer break when they came out of administration. Had they not then Haas would have finished below them in the constructor's standings.
