The Rome ePrix has been a winner for Jake Dennis. The New Zealand Formula E driver landed just off the podium during Saturday's ePrix, as he finished third. During the race on Sunday, some drivers did not go clear. Among others, Mitch Evans and Robin Frijns could not finish the race.

It is the fifth victory in the Formula E career for Dennis. The driver, who races for Andretti Autosport, was allowed to start the race from pole position and also finished first. An important victory for him in the battle for the Formula E championship.

Evans and Cassidy in Rome

On Saturday, there was already a mega-crash at the Rome circuit, but Sunday's edition was not completed without a blemish either. Mitch Evans crashed his car into Nick Cassidy's car. The two title contenders thus saw Dennis walk away with the victory.

Dennis currently stands on a respective tally of 195 points. He is followed by Cassidy with 171 points. In third place in the championship is Evans with 151 points. Pascal Wehrlein finished seventh in the race and is closing in on Evans. He is only five points behind him in the rankings. Watch the results of the ePrix in Rome here.
