The Miami Grand Prix was already the fifth F1 weekend of 2023. Red Bull Racing maximised again, while Alpine also fared a lot better than seven days ago. The same was not true for AlphaTauri and McLaren. These two teams scored heavy imperfections. Check out all the figures below.

Red Bull Racing - 9.5

The Austrian racing stable picked up their fourth one-two of 2023. Never before has Christian Horner and Helmut Marko's team had such a good start to the season. In Miami, however, Red Bull did not get the maximum score. Marko felt Verstappen should have steered to the outside earlier in qualifying, although Verstappen himself did not quite agree. Either way, the 25-year-old Dutchman's ninth starting position meant that an otherwise perfect weekend from Red Bull was not rewarded with a 10.

Alpine - 8.5

In Azerbaijan, Alpine did not fare well at all. Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finished far, far outside the points, but there was a double-points finish in the United States. The French formation took eighth and ninth place, pretty much maximising. Still, it continues to niggle that Alpine has no way of making things difficult for the top four teams.

Aston Martin - 8.0

For Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso, the fourth podium of 2023. The 41-year-old Spaniard was back in his element in the AMR23, which earned him third place. Still, those were the only points as Lance Stroll had to make do with 12th place. Things went particularly wrong in qualifying, as the Canadian didn't even make it to Q2 due to not very good timing from the team. Nevertheless, still an 8.0 because of the podium finish.

Haas F1 - 8.0

The Danish driver started fourth in Miami after a fine Saturday, although he himself knew all too well that he would not be able to defend that position. Magnussen had to work hard for it, but finished in a neat 10th place, as all teams ahead of him were clearly a size too big. A fine performance from Haas F1.

Mercedes - 7.0

Mercedes' qualifying was dramatic. Q2 was Lewis Hamilton's finish, but there was a lot more pace in the W14 a day later. The Mercedeses crossed the line in fourth and sixth, earning the Brackley-based formation ample satisfaction, although again, it was not a great performance.

Ferrari - 6.0

Tyre management. It remains a problem of the SF23. In qualifying, Ferrari got it right reasonably well, but in the race, the Italian squad was again the fourth team in terms of speed. All winter, Ferrari have had all winter to improve their performance in the longruns, but they still don't seem to have succeeded.

Alfa Romeo Racing - 6.0

Alfa Romeo are having a colourless season and so Valtteri Bottas' top-ten qualifying was a bright spot. On Sunday, however, they again lacked the necessary speed, and so points were far out of reach. It looks set to be a very tough season for the team led by top man Alessandro Alunni Bravi.

Williams - 5.0

The same is actually true for Williams. Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant don't have a car they can make trouble with. Albon got closed to points, but he made it clear over the team radio that he disagreed with the full-push strategy. The British Thai proved himself right, as a P14 is not good enough.

AlphaTauri - 4.5

AlphaTauri did okay in Baku but a week later, that was anything but the case. Yuki Tsunoda, who is having a very consistent season, still finished 11th. Another season of fighting in the backfield is looming for the Faenza-based racing team.

McLaren - 3.0

Well, McLaren. P17 for Lando Norris, P19 for Oscar Piastri. Would Piastri still be glad he chose McLaren over Alpine last year? The MCL60 isn't quick and Piastri even finished a lap behind. Extremely painful.
