Formula 1 has announced that the Austrian Grand Prix will remain on the F1 calendar until 2027. The Red Bull Ring has been a great success for drivers and fans in recent years.

The Austrian Grand Prix returned to the Formula 1 calendar in 2014 and in since then a popular event for drivers and fans. The 2022 event, for example, was still completely sold out. The deal with F1 continued through 2023 and has now been extended through 2027.

F1 longer in Austria

In the Formula 1 press release, Stefano Domenicali emphasised the hard work of all the people on and around the circuit and also commemorated Dietrich Mateschitz. ''I would like to thank everyone involved in this renewal, especially the promoter and Red Bull and I want to pay tribute to Dietrich Mateschitz for the love, passion, and vision he brought to Formula 1 that has ensured the continued success of the event and the huge enthusiasm for our sport in Austria and around the world.''

''We are proud of the special partnership we have with Formula 1, and we are absolutely delighted to be welcoming the top class of motorsport to the Red Bull Ring for a further four years,'' stated Enrich Wolf, general manager of Projekt Spielberg Gmbh & co KG.

Since the return of the Austrian GP, Max Verstappen has been by far the most successful driver. At Red Bull's home track, Verstappen won no less than three times, compared to Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas' two. Only Alain Prost won the Austrian GP three times as part of the official F1 calendar.
