Hungarian Grand Prix summary: Team by team ratings part 2

30-07-2018 19:22

It was obviously a great weekend for Mercedes, but how did all the other teams fair? Read below to find out our assessment after the Hungarian Grand Prix. This is part 2 featuring the second half of the field.

Force India

Understandably difficult circumstances for all those involved. In qualifying, they experienced a brake issue which left them starting from the back. It could only get better, and it did. But not enough for points. On the track, they've got hard work to do if they want to retain 4th. But harder work looms off the track.
Weekend Rating: 4.5/10

McLaren

Another points finish for Fernando Alonso left the birthday boy buzzing. But on the other side of the garage, Vandoorne had more issues. The summer break will give them some good time to forget about what has happened and start again. They need to.
Weekend rating: 6/10

Toro Rosso

Oh wow, who'd have thought that! They were on fire and have found pace on this track which demands low engine power! They actually out-qualified both of their big brothers and have undone Sauber's hard work catching them up. You have to give credit to Gasly, few doubted his ability when he joined but he's got a lot of talent!
Weekend rating: 9/10

Sauber

We knew the track wouldn't suit them, but they should have got much closer to a point finish. A retirement and a lapped x2 car didn't put any smiles on their faces.
Weekend rating: 2/10

Williams

The usual happened at Williams. Stroll broke his wing and had to start from the pits because they didn't have a new one. With the rumours about his father buying Force India, they must be worried about a knock on effect. Stroll pulls away and well..sinking ship time perhaps.
Weekend rating 1/10
