Valtteri Bottas narrowly failed to take victory at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Finnish driver finished 11th, well behind Pierre Gasly. Nevertheless, Bottas hoped there was more in it.

The Alfa Romeo driver did not get beyond 16th place in qualifying, leaving him with a difficult task ahead of the race. However, due to several dropouts, Bottas found himself in an increasingly better position and the points even came close for a while. However, it was not to be, Bottas stated in conversation with Formula1.com.

"It’s always frustrating when you are one position from the points but in the end from where we started there wasn’t that much more to get," he revealed. "At least we managed to avoid the mistakes and stay on track, but it’s a shame."

Latifi troubles Zhou in Singapore

His teammate Guanyu Zhou was also enjoying a good race in Singapore. However, the Chinese was unlucky as Nicholas Latifi drove hard into him, preventing him from continuing. Fernando Alonso, Alexander Albon, Esteban Ocon and Yuki Tsunoda also did not make it to the end of the race.
