Marko enjoys title race: 'A shame that Ferrari make so many mistakes'

For the second season in a row, Red Bull Racing is in the title race. Last year they battled with Mercedes, this year they face competition mainly from Ferrari. Yet this year is going much better than in 2021, mainly because the Italian team is making mistake after mistake.

Helmut Marko also notes this, although he is not complaining about it. He compares the battle in 2021 with the situation after the Hungarian Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen' s eighth win this season gave him an 80-point lead in the championship.

Ferrari absent from title race

"It has rarely been so much fun. Almost every weekend is a pleasure, very different from last season, when everything was nerve-wracking.", explains the Red Bull advisor at OE24. Yet Marko is not entirely confident that Verstappen will win the title this season. He may have a big lead in the championship, but Ferrari still have a very fast car.

"It's just a bit of a shame that Ferrari makes so many mistakes. They're beaten below their value, we really feel sorry for them. But once again: They'll be back, they have such a powerful car," Marko concluded.
