Formula 1 is facing a lot of interest in hosting a Grand Prix due to its successes in recent years. Stefano Domenicali, in conversation with the French L'Équipe, indicates that this does not mean that the teams should take into account numbers of thirty GPs per season.

If the leader of Formula 1 would like, it is quite possible for him to create an overcrowded calendar for the coming years. However, Domenicali indicates in the interview that he knows better than anyone that this would not be good for the sport and that he must therefore keep a clear maximum in his mind.

"That would not be reasonable. Our preference would be to keep 23 or 24 races," Domenicali then let it be known. "And to achieve this, depending on the demand, we will work with the principle of rotation. Not only for Europe, but also for other countries."

Formula 1 looks for solution

In doing so, Dominicali hints at a solution involving an alternating Formula One calendar. This would involve a number of circuits being scheduled once every few years, so that more countries would have the opportunity to bring in the motorsport class. For the time being, however, it is not clear whether this will actually happen.
