Sergio Perez experienced a hard crash in qualifying in Canada on Saturday. In Q2, he drove straight at a corner and then hit the wall hard with his car.
In the first session, the Mexican already struggled to end up among the first fifteen riders. Partly due to the weather conditions, he did not manage to finish at the top, but it was enough for him to reach Q2.
The Formula One drivers had nine minutes to go when Perez failed to make the corner during his lap. He could do nothing but drive straight on, ending up against a wall.

Red flag in qualifying by Perez

At that, the race control decided to wave a red flag and bring the drivers inside so that Perez's car could be taken off the track. For Red Bull Racing, it is hoped that the damage will not be too bad and that Perez will be able to participate in the race on Sunday, although that seems to be a matter of waiting and seeing for now.
