Ferrari claimed another front row lockout today, but Carlos Sainz is still upset with the fact that a Sergio Perez red flag ended the session early.
"It's a shame, another year that the red flag cost us at the end of the session so we cannot go for pole position," he told us after qualifying, before adding, "but typical Monaco."
The Spaniard came round the corner into Portier and saw Perez's car spread across the track, he recalled that "Perez crashed in front of me, I was in my flying lap. I saw the yellow flag just going into turn 8. I had to hit the brakes, and tried to avoid him as best I could."

Ferrari had the expected pace

Sainz and Leclerc had a lot of pace all weekend, which was something that the Ferrari driver saw as a positive. "We had really good pace all day, I was just building it up for qualifying. I was feeling good," he stated.

He finished by saying, "let's try and finish the job tomorrow, we're in a great position to score a great result for the team."
