RTL knows for sure: 'Hamilton present at W13 presentation'

It has been quiet around Lewis Hamilton for weeks. The Mercedes driver has not heard anything after his lost world title on December 12. It is uncertain whether the seven-time world champion will return in 2022, but according to information from RTL, Hamilton will 'simply' participate in Formula 1 again this season.

The usually well-versed German medium writes on its website that it has learned from sources that Hamilton will be present at the W13 presentation on February 18. According to other sources on the rumour circuit, it is a game that Hamilton is playing. The Briton would like to use this radio silence to force changes at the top of the FIA.

What happens next at the FIA?

Whether this will succeed, is still unclear. In early March the FIA will present the report containing the findings of the investigation into the course of the final phase of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Moreover, Michael Masi is still unsure of his place as race director next season, the international motorsport federation said in a statement.

Whereas Hamilton has not said anything, team boss Toto Wolff has already appeared in the media. The Austrian top man has indicated that he is still bummed, but in the meantime, he has put the focus on 2022. He also starts the season with a good intention. Wolff namely no more public quarrels with competitor Christian Horner.
