Alfa Romeo announced Wednesday morning that it will not unveil its C42 until after the first week of winter tests in Barcelona. The first three of the six test days in 2022 are behind closed doors and so the Italian formation can make the official launch late.
The new car and its livery will be revealed via a digital launch. The photos and videos will be released at 09:00 in the morning. Half an hour later, there will be a press conference at which team principal Frédéric Vasseur and new drivers Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou will be present. They will undoubtedly be asked how the car feels after the first days of testing.
The media is allowed to be present at the winter test in Barcelona, so it is unclear whether Alfa Romeo might appear on the scene with a different livery at the Circuit de Catalunya. At least for now Alfa Romeo is the last team to present its car to the outside world. Only Williams, Haas F1 and Red Bull Racing have not yet revealed their car launch dates.
