Christian Horner believes that
Kimi Raikkonen is not to blame for
Lewis Hamilton clash at Silverstone on Sunday.
The fallout from Sunday’s thrilling British Grand Prix continues, and Red Bull’s team principal is adamant that Raikkonen did not deliberately spin Hamilton out, despite accusations.
Hamilton reportedly accepted the Ferrari driver’s apology yesterday, but the Formula One world hasn’t forgotten just yet.
Horner believes that Raikkonen is innocent in this situation and he’s been talking about the matter to PlanetF1.com.
“When you have that growing tension, speculation is unavoidable when these incidents occur,” Horner said.
“But I believe it’s nothing more than a racing incident.
“I would be surprised if there was anything else or if Kimi is that kind of driver.”
The whole industry has been having their say on this huge incident involving two of F1’s biggest names.
Former World Champion Nico Rosberg believes that it definitely wasn’t deliberate on Raikkonen’s behalf.
“The answer is pretty simple. 100% not on purpose,” Rosberg claimed on his YouTube channel.
“We also saw that in Austria because even there, Kimi is not driving for Sebastian.
“In Austria, Kimi was second and Seb third and there was no letting Seb past at all. They didn’t even consider that.
“Kimi is driving for his own thing. Kimi was out there and just completely messed it up, braked way too late, locked up and torpedoed into Lewis.”
