It was a solid session for Italian outfit Aprilia who dominated the opening practise session of the 2026 season and seem set to mount a serious challenge against the Ducati dominance of recent years.
Marco Bezzecchi, who recently signed a multi-year deal with the team, was top of the timing charts with a 1:29.346 - two tenths clear of teammate Jorge Martin who finished the session in third.
Japanese Trackhouse star Ai Ogura was also very impressive and finished the session in fouth place overall, just ahead of KTM's Pedro Acosta who was the top KTM by some distance. The next-best placed KTM was Enea Bastianini down in P15.
Fabio Di Giannantonio was the fastest of the Ducatis in second place overall while the factory duo of Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia finished in sixth and seventh respectively.

It was a decent session for Honda who will have some cause for optimism. Luca Marini found his way into the top 10 with teammate Joan Mir not far behind in P12.
Rookie Diogo Moreira had an impressive debut session, ultimately finishing in P16, just a few fractions of a second behind his vastly more experienced teammate Johann Zarco.
Yamaha's woes from pre-season testing don't appear to show many signs of slowing down. The Japanese team occupied three of the bottom five placed with only Alex Rins managing to scrape into the Top 15.
Toprak Razgatlioglu had a difficult session, but so far managed to avoid crashing as he brough his Pramac bike home in P21.
