Aprilia rider and expected title contender Marco Bezzecchi has been in good spirits ahead of the 2026 MotoGP season, and has highlighed one key weakness that held him back last year.
While 2025 was the most successful year in the premier class for 'Bez', finishing 3rd in the overall season standings and collecting three Grand Prix victories and a further six podiums throughout the year, the Italian has found room improvement ahead of the opening round this weekend.
Speaking at the pre-race press conference this week, Bezzecchi highlighed how he plans to have a much better start to this year in the hopes of going one better and challenging for the title.
"My target at the moment is to start in a better way compared to 2025 because I think in the first half of the season we didn't grab the result that we could in every race. So I would like to start in a better shape, in a better way overall, then I'm happy to change my target."
The typically level-headed response reveals the humble approach Bez is taking to the season ahead, while still remaining optimistic.

In the Buriram test last weekend, Bezzecchi set the fastest lap overall and even broke the lap record ahead of Trackhouse's Ai Ogura.
Bezzecchi also recently penned a long-term deal to stay at Aprilia, celebrating the extension with a wedding-style ceremony alongside his bike in Sepang earlier this month.
Rumours suggest that Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia could be on his way to join 'Bez' at Aprilia after being forced out of his long-term factory in favour of an Acosta-Marquez duo for 2027.
