The season hasn't even started yet and already the rumour mill has been turning at a high RPM, particularly when it comes to some of the most coveted seats on the MotoGP grid.
Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia, the back-to-back 2022 and 2023 World Champion, looks set to depart his long-term partners at Ducati for a switch to fellow Italian manufacturers Aprilia from next season onwards.
Ducati, who have been rumoured to have agreed a deal with Pedro Acosta to line up alongside Marc Marquez next year, have been less than enthusiastic when it comes to their support for Pecco in recent months, and it may have finally hit a breaking point as the Italian looks for a way out.
According to TheRace, Bagnaia has reportedly signed for Aprilia from the 2027 season onwards, which should free up his Ducati seat for Acosta to move in.
Bagnaia will likely replace the outgoing Jorge Martin, his former championship rival, who looks set to be joining either Honda or Yamaha next year after a turbulent relationship with the Italian team.
On the other side of the garage, Marco Bezzecchi will be remaining firmly in-place after signing a multi-year deal with the team which was celebrated in an elaborate wedding ceremony in Sepang.
When asked what he thinks about the speculation surrounding his potential new teammate, Bezzecchi responded with his typical nonchalant attitude:
"You can pair me up with whoever you want, I don't really care."
