Fabio Di Giannantonio backed up his solid FP1 session with another fastest time in the afternoon Timed Practice. The top four riders in the session were all Italians as Ducati finished with five riders ahead of the fastest Aprilia.
Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia both sailed through comfortably into Q2 with KTM Tech3's Enea Bastianini being the only non-Ducati inside the top six.
Aprilia had no answer for Ducati's superior pace and were completely outclassed for the first time this season. Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi could only manage P7 while Jorge Martin was just behind in P8.
Valentino Rossi's VR46 team will be delighted with the results as they also celebrate a home race. Both Diggia and Franco Morbidelli were inside the top four.
Aside from Bastianini, it was a poor session for KTM as three riders including Pedro Acosta were all relegated to Q1.

Honda will be delighted with the performance of young rookie Diogo Moreira, the Brazilian made it through to Q2 for the first time this season.
Fabio Quartararo brought out a brief red flag after a low-side in Turn 4 where he brought a considerable amount of gravel back onto the track, in addition to taking a stern whack across the face from his rear wing. Jack Miller also crashed shortly afterwards, an indication that not all is necessairly heading upwards for the Yamaha garage.
Brad Binder then brought out a second red flag after his bike cut out once again along the main straight in a difficult place for marshals to retrieve.
