MotoGP is reportedly set to touch down in Miami in 2027 as Liberty Media continue the push to expand the sport back to US audiences again. The pre-season launch event, which was held in Kuala Lumpur earlier this year, will seemingly take place in 'The Magic City'.
The spectacle is set to feature demonstations and interviews with the riders as well as team presentations and other fan activities. The new season, which is set to mark the start of the 850cc era in MotoGP, will see the sport introduce some of the most dramatic regulation changes in the sport's history - though theoretically the changes are designed to hand more control back to riders.
The Miami launch event has already been reported by several outlets including
GPOne and
AS, and comes amid Liberty's proposal to introduce
a MotoGP race at the current F1 Miami street circuit. The move is just one more step in a wider plan to grow the sport in the USA, where currently Supercross reigns supreme as the most popular two-wheeled discipline.
No official date for the launch event has yet been confirmed yet, but reports indicate that it will take place on Miami's famous Ocean Drive on South Beach.

Miami Street Race Proposal
There has been a lot of speculation about the future of MotoGP since Liberty Media's majority acquisition of Dorna Sports in 2025. Since then, there have been near-weekly announcements regarding regulation changes for 2027, and even several alterations to rules during the current season.
However, it is not just the rule changes which are catching the attention of fans, riders and teams alike. One of the proposals for 2027 includes the idea of returning to street circuits for the first time since 1981.
Following the shock decision to
axe the legendary Phillip Island Circuit from the MotoGP calendar in 2027, to replace it with a makeshift street track in Adelaide, it was then confirmed that the MotoGP's governing bodies were looking at adding a race in Miami too.
