Izan Guevara claimed all 25 points and won the Moto2 race in Indonesia after Alex Escrig's bike failed with two laps to go.
The Moto2 race began with a big crash at Turn 1 involving David Alonso, Daniel Holgado, Collin Veijer and Joe Roberts, which led to a red flag. After the race was stopped, Holgado and Veijer could return for the restart, while Alonso’s and Roberts’ bikes could not be repaired in time.
The second start went off without any incidents, and, as he had at the end of the first lap before the restart, Escrig took the lead from Guevara.
Escrig was in control of the race, but with two laps to go, his Forward bike suddenly failed, forcing him to retire. This handed the victory to Guevara.

Meanwhile, Manuel Gonzalez completed a great comeback, climbing from P10 on the grid to finish on the podium. As a result, the Intact GP rider continues to lead the riders' standings, currently sitting 5.5 points ahead of Guevara. Holgado completed the podium.
