Maximo Quiles has won the Moto3 race at the Mandalika Circuit in Indonesia, securing the Moto3 World Championship title in the process.
By the end of Lap 1, Quiles had moved up to second place and attempted to overtake Almansa as well, but his first attempt was unsuccessful. A couple of corners later, Adrian Fernandez also went for an ambitious move, allowing the Aspar rider to take the lead while Almansa dropped to fifth place.
Almansa got back up to second place by Lap 6, but at that point, he was more than two and a half seconds behind Quiles.
Following an incident involving Fernandez and Alvaro Carpe that also saw the KTM Ajo rider crash, Almansa built up a considerable gap over the rider in third place.
During the final laps, Almansa could not get close to Quiles, and after crossing the finish line, the Aspar rider was crowned Moto3 World Champion. The Intact GP rider finished second, while Brian Uriarte completed the podium ahead of Matteo Bertelle.
