The MotoGP title battle took a surprise twist at the Indonesian Grand Prix as Marc Marquez failed to make the front row in qualifying.
The nine-time champion put his Ducati fourth, but the real surprise was that it was still enough to be ahead of title leader Jorge Martin in fifth.
Topping the session was Trackhouse's Raul Fernandez, who took his first-ever pole position with a track record 1'28.852. He was followed by Marco Bezzecchi, with VR46's Fabio Di Giannantonio completing the front row.
Bezzecchi is still in the title battle, but at a disadvantage, 49 points behind Aprilia teammate and leader Martin.
Qualifying was still encouraging for Aprilia who were superior to Ducati, even with Martin's frustrations.

Ogura and Aldeguer's heroics
The fourth rider powered by the Italian manufacturer, Fernandez's teammate Ai Ogura, made it out of Q1 and up to seventh despite a nasty crash.
Fermin Aldeguer was the other rider to make it out, and did so in stunning fashion.
The Gresini rider suffered his third heavy crash of the weekend but still managed to top Q1, despite having to limp back to his pit box.

He then followed up with a sixth-place in Q2, ahead of Ogura and just behind championship leader Martin.
