The Jerez Sprint was one of the most chaotic in recent memory as heavy rain caused almost half the grid to crash out.
Marc Marquez crashed out of P2 before his brother Alex then crashed out of the lead. Marc managed to remount and change bikes at the perfect time, then overtook the rest of the struggling field to claim an unbelievable victory.
Aprilia suffered their first major stumble of the season as Bezzecchi had a terrible launch and found himself down in P18 during the first lap. His problems were then further compounded with a crash, and he was unable to rejoin.
Jorge Martin was fighting well in the opening lap but his front brakes overheated dramatically and he was forced to retire.
It was a good race for VR46 too, as Fabio Di Giannantonio showed good early pace to battle with the Marquez brothers. Franco Morbidelli pulled off a surprise podium after starting the race from P18, capitalizing on the chaos which unfolded all around him.
Brad Binder was another rider who crashed and managed to rejoin and get a good result, his P4 being his best of the season so far.
Johann Zarco, who started on the front row, fought valiantly against the superior Ducatis and ultimately survived for a P8 finish ahead of factory rider Luca Marini.
Raul Fernandez had a good showing in P6 for Trackhouse, but it hasn't been a good weekend for Ai Ogura - the Japanese rider finishing 15th and scoring no points in the sprint.
