Max Verstappen's team, Verstappen Racing, will contest the second race of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint weekend at Magny-Cours today after winning Saturday's opening race. Watch the race live above! While the Formula 1 season is currently on its summer break, the GT World Challenge Europe series is still in action. This weekend, the championship is racing at Magny-Cours, where it is contesting two Sprint races.
Verstappen's team is also competing this weekend. After claiming pole position on Saturday, Jules Gounon and Dani Juncadella went on to win the opening race of the weekend at the French circuit. Chris Lulham is not driving for the Dutchman's team this weekend.
After the race, Verstappen wrote on social media under his team's post: "So proud. Well done everyone."
Juncadella was also over the moon with the victory. "Can confirm #3 wins races! LFG!!! Thank you Verstappen Racing, 2seasmotorsport & Jules Gounon for a mega drive!"
This marked the first time Verstappen could celebrate a victory this year. In Formula 1, the four-time world champion is yet to stand on the top step of the podium in 2026, coming closest to doing so at the Red Bull Ring. Competing in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, Verstappen and his team were also in contention for victory, but a technical issue prevented them from taking the win.
Verstappen Racing to start Race 2 from seventh place on the grid
The #3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo will line up seventh on the grid for the second race of the weekend at Magny-Cours. Juncadella originally qualified eighth earlier today, but moved up one place after the #32 Team WRT BMW was disqualified earlier today.
The race gets underway at 15:30 local time (14:30 BST). You can follow the race live at the top of this article as well!
