Will the third sprint race of the season bring more shocks?
Six sprint races were announced before the 2025 season got underway, with the
Belgian Grand Prix at the iconic
Spa-Francorchamps circuit hosting the third one of the season.
The Chinese Grand Prix and the Miami Grand Prix hosted the first two sprint races of the season, bringing some shocks to the table in sprint qualifying on Friday, with Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli respectively taking sprint race pole.
Hamilton went on to win the sprint race in Shanghai, while Lando Norris took the second sprint win of the season in the Sunshine State of Florida.
Title battle hotting up
Norris will be looking to make it three wins in a row after taking the top step of the podium at both the Austrian and British Grands Prix.
As a result, the gap has been closed at the top of the championship between the Brit and teammate Oscar Piastri, with the Australian now just eight points clear of his McLaren rival.
The Dutchman sits 69 points away from Piastri at the top of the standings, while Russell sits just 18 points behind Verstappen.
