Christian Horner’s potential return to
Formula 1 is gathering pace following fresh reports linking him with talks involving a former
McLaren investor.
The former Red Bull Racing team principal, who has made no secret of his desire to return to
F1, has reportedly held talks with MSP Sports Capital, which only last summer sold its stake in the
McLaren team.
According to a report via Sky Sports, the American equity firm is backing Horner’s potential offer for Otro Capital’s 24% stake in the Alpine
F1 outfit.
The 52-year-old was axed from the Red Bull team amid a run of underwhelming results and several off-track skirmishes.
The
Cadillac F1 outfit has hit the track with its new livery ahead of the second round of pre-season testing in Bahrain.
The American-based outfit, which recently unveiled its paint scheme for its debut
Formula 1 season at the Super Bowl event, took to the Bahrain International Circuit for its first on-track running with the new colours.
The running, which was part of the team’s promotional filming day, featured both drivers,
Sergio Perez and
Valtteri Bottas, taking to the track at intervals in Sakhir.
Both drivers, who continue to spearhead the
Cadillac F1 project, will now shift their focus to the upcoming round of pre-season testing, set to take place between February 11 and 13 at the circuit in Bahrain.
